01 - In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until fully browned. Drain off any excess fat.
02 - Add taco seasoning and water to the browned beef. Stir well and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
03 - In a large salad bowl, combine the chopped romaine lettuce, halved cherry tomatoes, diced red onion, black beans, corn, and shredded cheddar cheese.
04 - Add the slightly cooled seasoned beef to the salad and gently distribute throughout.
05 - Just before serving, incorporate the crushed Doritos and your choice of dressing. Toss the salad gently to ensure all ingredients are evenly coated. Serve immediately while chips remain crisp.
