Crispy Cinnamon Banana Chips (Printable)

Air-fried banana slices dusted with cinnamon sugar for a light, crunchy, gluten-free snack.

# What You'll Need:

→ Fruit

01 - 3 ripe but firm bananas

→ Coating

02 - 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil or neutral oil
03 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
04 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
05 - Pinch of salt

# Directions:

01 - Preheat the air fryer to 350°F for 3 minutes.
02 - Peel bananas and slice into 1/8-inch thick rounds using a sharp knife or mandoline.
03 - Gently toss banana slices in a mixing bowl with melted coconut oil to ensure even coverage.
04 - In a separate small bowl, combine granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
05 - Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the banana slices and toss to coat evenly.
06 - Arrange coated banana slices in a single, non-overlapping layer in the air fryer basket. Work in batches if necessary.
07 - Air fry for 12–15 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through, until golden and crisp. Monitor closely near the end to prevent over-browning.
08 - While still warm, toss banana chips with the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture.
09 - Allow banana chips to cool completely to achieve a crispy texture before serving.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The crunch and sweetness totally trick you into thinking it’s pure indulgence—without any deep frying in sight
  • I once made double and they still vanished in less than a day because the cinnamon-sugar crust makes every chip irresistible
02 -
  • If you crowd the air fryer basket, your chips will go limp instead of crispy—learned that the frustrating way
  • Giving chips a sugar toss while still hot makes the coating stick perfectly instead of falling off later
03 -
  • Slicing all your bananas before mixing ensures a consistent batch and avoids uneven browning
  • Tossing the warm chips gently makes them evenly dusted and beautifully crisp
